This picture shows what my cell phone and I both wanted to do today. Starting at 4:30 a.m. YES! That's what I said, 4:30 a.m., I began getting rapid fire phone calls and text messages.
Now granted, I'm up by that time of the day anyway, but that's not the point. Who wants to start their day off with "This call is being recorded for quality assurance..." and then "Guadalupe, we're calling about your payday advance loan."
Okay..... (dragging out the word) I am NOT Guadalupe and can honestly say I've never met a person with that name. So now I'm thinking, just who is this person and why did they give MY phone number? So I send "STOP" to all the text messages, to which I immediately received a phone call following each one. I proceed to tell them, I am not this person, don't know this person, etc., etc.
I have to say that I love it when they hang up on you before you complete your first sentence. Finally after the fifteenth phone call (I'm not exaggerating), I spoke to someone who wasn't an ESL person and he actually let me get finished with a full sentence and part of a second one before disconnecting the call.
I have nothing against ESL people, I used to work with many of them in a classroom environment helping them learn English and commend them for their efforts to learn something that is foreign to them. However, if you are going to work in telemarketing, you should at least be able to UNDERSTAND the people you are calling and also be able to convey your message in the language of the country you are calling.
Now I ask you... how the heck do I get these people to stop calling and texting me all day long when I can't block the number because it is always different AND they will not stay on long enough for me to tell them to remove my number. Yes, I am on the Do Not Call list, but that doesn't seem to matter since Guadalupe gave them MY number.
