Take a moment to stop by goodreads to place your vote/s on the Indie Authors to Watch list. I admit that Hers to Have, Theirs to Have, and His to Have are on the list, but there are many other great Indie Authors listed. Find your favorites to vote on. The list is ever changing based on the number of votes.
Does anyone else find it amusing that these days you can’t view anything online without signing up, signing in, or creating a profile? And of course you can always use your Facebook ID… Yes! Let’s give FB another way to track our movements so they can send ads our way. Granted, I’m an author and depend on ads for publicity too. But, just because I view pictures of say, engagement rings for research, does that mean I want ads for baby products popping up in my sidebar. I mean really? Even if someone is engaged or getting engaged, does that mean they are automatically expecting a baby?
One example is today, for instance, I clicked on a link to read one of my favorite author’s blog entries and low and behold… I HAD to create an account. No problem. I’m not opposed to that. But then, it gives me no choice but to create a blog entry. Hmmm…. I already have two places that I post my blogs, so now here’s a third. Okay. We’ll see how it goes with WordPress. I’ve heard a lot about them, all good, so far, but does that mean I should have to move my blog entry over to them? I suppose I could go without putting on on the site, but hey, what’s the fun in that? Right?
So, I am posting here (Wordpress.com) to see how it works. So far, so good. The ease of setting it up was fairly simple, although I never had a problem with Katorah’s thoughts on blogspot or my website: www.katorahkenway.com but we’ll see how this goes. :-)
This picture shows what my cell phone and I both wanted to do today. Starting at 4:30 a.m. YES! That's what I said, 4:30 a.m., I began getting rapid fire phone calls and text messages.
Now granted, I'm up by that time of the day anyway, but that's not the point. Who wants to start their day off with "This call is being recorded for quality assurance..." and then "Guadalupe, we're calling about your payday advance loan."
Okay..... (dragging out the word) I am NOT Guadalupe and can honestly say I've never met a person with that name. So now I'm thinking, just who is this person and why did they give MY phone number? So I send "STOP" to all the text messages, to which I immediately received a phone call following each one. I proceed to tell them, I am not this person, don't know this person, etc., etc.
I have to say that I love it when they hang up on you before you complete your first sentence. Finally after the fifteenth phone call (I'm not exaggerating), I spoke to someone who wasn't an ESL person and he actually let me get finished with a full sentence and part of a second one before disconnecting the call.
I have nothing against ESL people, I used to work with many of them in a classroom environment helping them learn English and commend them for their efforts to learn something that is foreign to them. However, if you are going to work in telemarketing, you should at least be able to UNDERSTAND the people you are calling and also be able to convey your message in the language of the country you are calling.
Now I ask you... how the heck do I get these people to stop calling and texting me all day long when I can't block the number because it is always different AND they will not stay on long enough for me to tell them to remove my number. Yes, I am on the Do Not Call list, but that doesn't seem to matter since Guadalupe gave them MY number.
Help me spread the word... only one day left (as of this posting)....

In book 3 of the Ackerman Security Consultants series, His to Have, there was something I put in the story line that left an unanswered question or rather something that should have made you think, 'Hmmm, what happened to....', and no, I don't mean the ending. The first person to discover what I'm talking about will win a free copy of the book (eBook or print, winner's choice). Contact me with your guess and I'll let you know if you've won or not.
Good luck to each of you. It's easy to miss. Even though I intentionally put it in the book the way I did, even I have found it easy to "miss" when reading through the story.
In honor of the upcoming release of His to Have, I'm sponsoring a giveaway at goodreads.com for the first book in the Ackerman Security Consultants series, Hers to Have. The lucky winners will receive an autographed print edition of Hers to Have.
I'm in celebration mode tonight since I've completed my part of His to Have. Now all that's left is waiting on the final approval from the editor and then the conversion process for eBook/print formats. Release date is scheduled for March 15, 2015.
This book has me super excited because it keeps us up to date with the existing couples, but also introduces a new character or two into the Ackerman crew. One of which I'm having a hard time not making him the next book (Mine to Have - book 4). There's just something about this particular new fella that's tugging at my heartstrings. We will see how it goes as the writing for the fourth begins. As of now, book four will concentrate on Tepish, one of the team leaders. Oh, and do I have a sassy female in mind for him.
There are so many things I'd like to mention to you about His to Have, but that would give away too many spoilers, so I'll refrain... for now. Let's just say Harmond Dane has met his match.
I'm proud to introduce my new website, katorahkenway.com to everyone. A special thanks to Ian at College Web Pro for all the hard work and amazing outcome. I love the new style and theme for the site. Thanks also to Riann Leigh for helping me proof everything before the new site went live.
